WIND DEAL ANALYSIS

Half of 136 European wind deals made the buyer's portfolio less steady.

We measured 136 European wind deals one way: what each one did to the buyer's portfolio. In 67, the farms bought have their low-wind years at the same time as the farms the buyer already owned, so the portfolio got less steady. The other 69 made it steadier. The difference is worth about 1 GWh of P90 per TWh of gross yield for each point of diversification.

P90 gained or lost from diversification, GWh a year. Repath analysis of 136 European wind deals, each measured on the buyer's portfolio at the end of 2025, without and with the acquired farms. Modelled estimates from turbine-level wind resource modelling (ERA5 with Global Wind Atlas adjustment, 1996-2025); deal facts from public sources.

All 136 deals, how we measure them and the 2025 check are in our report European wind intelligence.
